Part 2 - Registration and Event Eligibility

Handler/Owner Registration

  • Handlers & Owners must be a financial member of DSDU to be eligible to apply for a Team Registration.
  • A once off fee payable for all New Member Applications.

Dog Registration

  • Each dog must also be registered.
  • A once off fee is payable for all New Dog Applications.
  • DSDU will issue unique registration numbers for each Dog. A dog cannot have more than one unique number.

Team Registration

  • Each individual team must register to be able to participate in sanctioned events.
  • DSDU will issue a unique registration number for each Team registered
  • A Team is a Dog/Handler Combination.
  • Each Teams registration number must accompany all registrations for events so that qualifying legs and points earned can be attributed to the right team
  • Team Registrations will be required to be renewed each year, by renewing your team registration you also renew your handler/owner registration for financial recognition.
  • Team Registration runs from 1st January to 31st December every year with the renewal process opening up on 30th November and closing on 31st January.
  • Teams who have not renewed by the closing date will have to apply for a new Team Registration.

Disc Dog Sports Minimum age requirement

  • Dogs must be a minimum of 18 months old to compete.
  • With exception to the Roller Dog Program in which dogs must be a minimum of 20 weeks old to participate in Not-for-Competition rounds.

Disc Dog Sports - recognition of other Disc Dog Organisation achievements

  • Teams who compete in other Disc Dog organisations may have their achievements recognised which will determine the division they are eligible to compete in.
  • An application must be made via email to DSDU outlining the teams achievement. DSDU Executive Council will determine the outcome.

Kynex Dog Sports Minimum age requirement

  • Dogs must be a minimum of 18 months old to compete.
  • With exception to the Not-for-Competition rounds in which dogs must be a minimum of 12 months old to participate.

Event Entry Liability Waiver

  •  Any person entering a Dog Sports Down Under sanctioned event does so at their own risk and no DSDU Member or Affiliate Club shall be responsible for any injury or damage to another dog 

Change of Ownership

  •  If the owner of a registered dog changes, an application for change must be made via the form on the website.
  • The Owners name will change the dogs registration number will remain the same
  • Any points, awards, titles and qualifiers of the dog will remain in place.
